I accidentally filled this out last night and got a peek at the answer. I feel confident I wouldโ€™ve pegged it as bourbon and hot, but I donโ€™t know if I wouldโ€™ve gone high enough on the proof to be right. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™m threatening for the lead anyway, but Iโ€™ll take an asterisk on this one. As for the whiskey, with water, this is my favorite bourbon so far.

Hot hot hot. Loving this. Not sure what I'm getting, but it tastes like burning fo sho.

Tricky. Not malt. Doesnโ€™t taste QUITE sweet enough for bourbon, and the finish suggests rye also, but thereโ€™s not enough spice on the nose to convince me. I'm going to switch my game up and call this maybe a bourbon with some wheat in the mashbill.

Am I finally starting to know the difference between rye and bourbon? I'm getting lemon and hay.

Malt for sure. Banana and some orchard fruit on the nose. Shortbread cookie and pear on the palate. Feels light and smooth.

Honey for sure.

The nose is a bit weak, but the flavor definitely hits hard once you take a sip. Not exactly sure what flavors I'm getting, but I like them a lot.

Once again torn between bourbon and rye. Still no black pepper to my nose. Really round and creamy, but lighter bodied than most of the other non-malts. The softness reminds me of Makerโ€™s, though Iโ€™m not getting the big cherry hint which is usually my clue for wheat.

Bourbon or a Rye.... Scott Beckett... I'll pick the wrong one but it's one of those two.....maybe

It's light, which I like. Almost has a refreshing feeling to it. Maybe I'll start drinking 8 glasses of this a day instead of water. I'm getting some citrus, floral and sweetness. Really nice.

WOW. Lovely on the palate. A deceptively muted nose leads to an almost shockingly fruity taste. Malt for sure. If itโ€™s not scotch itโ€™s a Japanese single malt.

Smooth on ice. Pretty sure it's a bourbon

Hmmm. Definitely scotch. Getting a little ๐Ÿ on the front. A bit of peat, but more on the sweet side.

The question that will haunt me all my days - bourbon or rye? I'm trying to trust my first impressions more since I tend to talk myself out of the right answer, so I'm calling rye. I get orchard and stone fruit on the nose. Maple syrup and shortbread on the palate. Hot as hell at first, but more approachable with each sip.

This one's got me guessing. Smells sweet and bitter, but tastes dry and fruity, then the aftertaste has a malt flavor to it. The weird combo really works for me though.

Sweet taste, hint of spice and licorice at finish

I won't pretend to know anything after yesterday's debacle. This one's hot, not a lot of fruit or spice on the nose, smooth and creamy on the palate.

Very tough. I like it for sure, but not sure what I'm getting. Maybe some salt, wood, but not much sweetness. The finish does start to get sweet, but it takes a while to get there.

This one's got me reeling. It seems too smooth to be a bourbon, but not grassy or spicy enough to be a rye. After a sip it's pure baked apple with cinnamon. I'm going to guest rye because - I'll confess - I'm watching the counts, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is an "other ".

Tastes like Christmas. It's a lot like baked apples, some vanilla, baking spices, basically just a holiday breakfast. Not sure if I like it. The finish is great, but getting there is less great.
