- Why is it so spicy?
- Brown sugar, rich, dark, but the alcohol burn removes some of the capacity to enjoy; far from smooth
- Some interesting floral notes

Sweet heat. Overripe cherries and vanilla nose. Black currant, caramel finish.

Tastes like a rye-heavy Tennessee whiskey. A bit spicy for my taste but I respect what itโs up to.
Josh Mitchell
Full Body
Sweet and smooth early, with some heat at the end. I like this one.

Little hot on the initial sip, but it settled down after a couple sips and a drop of water. Little perplexed on the notes but getting some caramel notes with hints of cherry, maybe. Being Day 2, enjoyed this one.

This smells and tastes very familiar. Is this Woodford Double Oak? Plenty of sweetness and a slightly elevated heat. Overall, very solid. Iโd be happy if I ordered this at a bar downtown.

'Twas the night of the second tasting, and all through the room,
I took a deep whiff, but the scent had no boom.
A faint hint of maple, some vanilla so sweet,
But I craved something stronger, a more vivid treat.
On first sip, caramel, so smooth and so mild,
The flavorโs subdued, not intense or wild.
I donโt love it, I donโt hate it, itโs somewhere between,
Itโs missing the punch that I hoped to glean.
Is it a bourbon? I canโt say with ease,
But as a warm-up, itโs gentle, it frees.
A quiet beginning, not bold or bizarre,
A simple start before the night goes far.

The initial sip was Smooth with hints of caramel and oak.
But in the end, it didn't have any special characteristics that would place it on my to buy list. I would place it at $40 Bottle range

Much more enjoyable than yesterdayโs flameout.
Got a whiff of vanilla and rasin maybe?
Very syrupy and lush. Nice cinnamon finish.
Very sweet overall, almost like a dessert wine neat. Iโve opened it up nicely. Really want to make a cocktail with whatever this is., but also want to enjoy it straight.

Iโm so confused by this one right now. Itโs good but I am not sure the style or proof. Iโm a terrible blind guesser.

I was able to get a lot more flavor when I added a couple cubes. Straight ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ in the first sip.

I liked this. Smooth, mainly, with a bit of burn at the end. Iโm not great at identifying notes, but I was getting some leather and a bit of cigar in there. Tasty stuff, this.

This one seems kind of flat to me. Get a bit of a peanut note for some reason that makes me think Tennessee Whiskey but I'm going with Irish.

Less peppery than I usually like in a rye but trade that off for general smoothness. Iโm into it .
Splash of water was really nice

Once itโs toned down with water itโs a decent pour.

Really great start! We both really liked it, I'll add this to my bar!

Happy Holidays gang!
Why's it so spicey....reminder why I am not a huge Rye fan. I have always wondered if people who like peaty Scotch really dig Rye?
Cant wait for the rest of them though!!
