Green apples on the nose with a faint hint of nail polish. Seems really light and enjoyable with a subtle salt taste that makes me think scotch but little confused on this one.

This tastes familiar though we can't nail it down. We had the requisite 'statistically we have guess bourbon' conversation and, well, think it's a bourbon ;)

Well, we are once again humbled. Now that I KNOW, the peat is suddenly evident

Has some sweetness almost like honey and toffee but then the spice hits with some heat that lingers nicely. Really enjoyed this one.

Canโ€™t really place what type it is, so Iโ€™m guessing either Indian or maybe Japanese. I like the nose, it reminds me of something that I canโ€™t remember, but a pleasant scent. The taste is less enjoyable - a bit fiery and an odd sour finish. Canโ€™t say Iโ€™m a fan of this one.

Another easy drinking scotch? Well balanced, a little peat, right amount of heat, great flavor throughout. Iโ€™m a fan!

Sam-I-am took a little break But he's back with a rhyme and ready to partake So let's jump into day sixteen! Here is where my rhyme will reconvene. Blimey, that first sip is tastes like a fireplace. So much smoke, I cannot sip it with a straight face. This year has helped me appreciate scotch more It is no longer a dram I plan to ignore Sam-I-am what thinks you today? This dram certainly is not child's play. I would sip one glass and not complain But I'm also not saying I wish to see this again

Potent, but nicely balanced and engaging. I thought for sure this was a bourbon from the color and nose, but the palate makes it think it must be different.

GREAT nose...this one is tricky. It feels like a scotch/bourbon blend like Monkey Shoulder...but has serious heat....cask strength Scotch? It's simply not sweet enough to be a straight bourbon! Pic is how I'd react if someone took this bottle from me (it's from a music video circa 2015)

Yikes this is a spicy dram! Which is a shame because it has a nice flavor hidden under there. Cinnamon burn lingers too long for my comfort though.

Pretty good, but not a standout for me. Didn't hate it, didn't love it.

Smells and tastes like a pretty classic bourbon. Brown sugar and cherry all the way. Feels like a hefty proof, bonded or better. Maybe a hint of stone fruit and some baking spice on the nose as I get a few sips in. No surprises, but not a damn thing wrong with it.

Taste is graham crackers and caramel with a little peppery heat. Tasty pour. I'd have it again.

Enjoyable pour. Can't believe I'm really digging scotch this calendar. It's a scotch redemption tour.

Man this one is interesting and by interesting I mean hard to guess. Reminds me of a Cabernet or port finished bourbon or even rye. Has those deep sweet notes and color.

"I thaid, I canth theel mah tongth!" I roll my eyes at the new blood, shove an oar into his hand and tell him to sit, shut up, and row. The spray of the sea greets me like sunshower. The crew changeover is complete, the morning shift begins to dip their oars and pull. My hair blows in the wind, we're picking up speed; maybe the new bloods are worth the trouble after all. I go below, I've earned my reward: a ration of Amber from the Ashen wastes. I dip my horn into the communal barrel but before I enjoy my reward, our Jarl stops me. 'I never properly thanked you for saving my life.' He says. Our last raid had come at a terrible cost, we lost many, and had to pick up the rabble of young bloods to reinforce our ranks. And we would have lost our Jarl if not for my fortunate timing. 'Luck is really what you should thank, I was in the right place at the right time.' He shakes his head. 'Luck? Fate. at least celebrate with me and see for yourself the prize I was willing to risk so much for.' He procures a barrel: nearly identical to the Ashen Amber but much smaller, clearly much rarer. He fills my horn. It is sweeter than any mead from home, but as I drink my eyes water. 'HA! yes, if this is from the Ashen wastes then it must be straight from the ruinous volcano itself!' The Jarl claps me on the back, laughing. 'I canth theel mah tongth!' I muster
