She said 'I think its a scotch, but I don't feel like I have a mouthful of bog. I kinda like it'. I said 'Hell, I'd do a Scotch Advent if he offered one' to which she replied 'Are you out of your mind? That is $&%^ crazy talk.' Now you have context for where scotch falls in our relationship, along with how comfortable she is in telling me what she really feels. The fact that she likes this one makes my much more likely to track it down, I dig it. If it is not a scotch ignore this word salad and I will crawl back into my cave.

Caramel smooth, hints of vanilla. Easy drinking. Slow but light burn. Sign of peat. A good drink while sitting in my book dragon library...๐Ÿ“š

Honey forward...very tasty. I'd be surprised if this isn't an Irish Whiskey. Longer finish than most Irish Whiskies....that's why I'm clocking at 95 vs. 85 proof. Color makes me think it's a blend, likely 4 years or so!

Fruit/apple notes on the nose. Fiery, guessing again a higher proof. Something about it is saying Scotch to me, but not a super peaty one. Probably wrong, but weโ€™ll give it a shot. The missus thinks itโ€™s a bourbon. ๐Ÿ˜

Didn't smell great. Tasted A LOT of oak but it had a sweet finish.

Pleasantly citrusy on the nose with melons and pears. The finish is oakier and more earthy than I expected from the nose and color. I like it... but not a lot.

Unique bouquet, coming in hot. Did I say hot, still on fire. Habenero. My nose is running.

Heavy bit of caramel on the nose with almost a hint of burnt orange lingering to you wanting more. On the palate it almost gives this softness of a brown sugar while backpacking a strong toffee profile on the palate like most bourbons with almost a sugar cookie finish. This might be a great everyday sipper just to unwind after a long day.

Coming to this noisy bar wasnโ€™t my idea of a good first date, but here I am, 3 drinks deep in a corner booth feeling nothing, no buzz no interest. This new spot is so loud I canโ€™t hear myself think let alone whatever this blue haired siren sitting across from me is trying to say. Maybe that was the idea: come somewhere that we canโ€™t get to know each other through voices, gotta communicate some other way. After giving up on shouting 20 questions across to each other, she punches in an order on the table side kiosk and moments later a server robot rolls up with a small bottle. She pours into 2 glasses. We cheers to New California and I take a sip. I raise an eyebrow, this isnโ€™t the normal synthetic drivel weโ€™ve been pounding all night. No, this is something older, something from before the farm wars, something real. She grins, I grin, I sip again. Sheโ€™s blurring in and out of focusโ€ฆturns out we didnโ€™t need to hear each other after all.

Loved this one. Iโ€™m getting a vanilla and a bit of sweetness I think? Thinking this was aged in a barrelโ€ฆ a wooden one. ๐Ÿ˜

Enjoyable pour, but a bit unremarkable. Slight burn with caramel and brown sugar.

Nose and taste pretty similar, Carmel honey and lemon/citrus. The finish kinda like a cinnamon candy. It sweetened up and smooth out nicely with a few drops of water.

Slow burst of burn on the backend. Moss-earthy flavor sits heavy in your mouth.

Yum. Another great pour. Sweet on the front, more grassy on the back end.
