The summit is tonight. 100 years of animosity, preceded by 100 years of fueding, preceded by 100 years of actual bloodshed, might actually come to an end under this very moon. But what if they hate the gift? Elves aren't known for their spirits, and to offer to the Dwarves what they have made famous? It's risky to say the least. I've never known a dwarf to turn down a drink, but they may take this as an insult. It's not my decision of course, the council made the choice. Of course it was my mothers choice to volunteer to distill the peace offering, and my father's choice to volunteer me to be the drink-bearer. I'm the vanguard, the front line of diplomacy. If they hate the gift, my head will be the first with an axe in it. But maybe they won't. even if it's not as strong as Dwarven spirits are, they should be able to tell it was made with love and intention. My mother went to the Astral Sea and found a weeping angel, gathered her tears as she consoled her, and used them in the still. Surely they'll know! Ah, here he comes, the Dwarven emissary, a small entourage behind him. He bows, we bow. It's time. I present the sample bottle. He bows, I bow. He sniffs it and raises an eyebrow. oh no. He's going to hate it. He tips it back, smacks his lips and looks me dead in the eye. I grit my teeth. "Angel tears?" I nod, ready for another century of turmoil. He steps towards me: "I'll have another!"

Is this scotch?! Do I like it? The first taste was super smokey. The second and third were quite nice. I’m only choosing Japanese because it’s on the list and assuming there is some variety? Who knows?! I like it!

It’s seriously killing me how often I want to call these Japanese. The smart money is to always say scotch in these scenarios, but this time I could swear it’s Japanese. It’s not far from 80 if at all. More leather and almond than any appreciable fruit note. If someone poured me this I’d be gratedful, but I wouldn’t seek it out myself.

Not my favorite so far, but near the top for sure. This is a sneak attack— starts out sweet and lovely (almost TOO much) and then the smoke comes barreling down. It’s almost balanced but I think there’s just a bit too much bitterness on the end. Really enjoyed this one though

Not even butterscotch just straight up rich butter. Wonderful nose! This is excellent, wow. A light, balanced fruit. Plum. Wood. Past few days have all been fantastic, great run. Smoke now. Water removed all sweetness.

Smokey. Nice and easy. Liking the taste… which is a death sentence to whiskey. I’ll say allegedly a lot and wave my hand whilst talking about this drink. And then I’ll lecture you on the differences between Taylor’s Eras Tour on Disney and her Eras Tour “Last Show” video. Gurl buckle up! Put this in your Coffee, Dr. Pepper, or, idk, just throw some ice at it. (None of which I did at the time of this tasting)

Anyways, imma guess something cheap and lighter on the proof. Under a hundo. Like the cat scene in Boondocks Saints. This only belongs in coffee… or Dr. Pepper

Kinda a straight forward scotch but so hard to know tastes on scotches to me. Oak peat and sweet finish with leather. May another rebarrel. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Green apples on the nose with a faint hint of nail polish. Seems really light and enjoyable with a subtle salt taste that makes me think scotch but little confused on this one.
