Solid scotch. If itโ€™s Islay, the pettiness is very mild delicious.

The year is 2137. Iโ€™m standing in the middle of a city, rain starts pouring down. Of course I have to find shelter, the acidity of the precipitation has been dangerous for decades. I duck into a small lean-to shop on the side of the street to wait out the rain, hoping the roof of this spot is strong enough to withstand the acid. โ€˜Noodles?!โ€™ The shopkeeper asks. โ€˜No, thank you Iโ€™m not in the mood for noodsโ€™ I say. โ€˜Novelty Kazhoo?โ€™ He asks insistently, holding up a small plastic instrument ingraved with the initials โ€˜P.S.Rโ€™ I raise an eyebrow. โ€˜Never been the musical type, but maybe you could help me. Iโ€™m looking for someone, a deserter from the asteroid mining corps. The C-suite donโ€™t take kindly to their workers jumping ship. His name is Paul Seymor Reinstard. Happens to line up with that kazhoo. Know anything?โ€™ The shop keeper slowly raises his arms in a shrug, his mouth turning into a shit eating grin. โ€˜Information has a price, purchase something for enlightenment.โ€™ โ€˜Fineโ€™ I say. โ€˜Give me some of thatโ€™ I point to a decanter of brown liquid. โ€˜Excellentโ€™ he pours a dram into my flask and begins to divulge all the info he has. I picked this shop specifically, the rain was just a happy accident to cover my intentions. I got what I needed, enough of a clue to move forward on my hunt. I step back into the acid rain, now no more than a drizzle. I text a message to the fixer who hooked me with this job telling her I found the leak in the organization, noodle shopkeepers shouldnโ€™t be so loose lipped. I sip the whiskey. Itโ€™s not bad.

A peach in the middle of a batch of peppers. An apple in the middle of assorted spices. A cantaloupe in the middle of a contentious wedding. A spoon of yogurt in a spicy soup. A spot of shade in the middle of a desert. A toe-dip in a pool in the middle of a drought. A funk song in the middle of an R&B set. A piece of blue cheese in the middle of a plain sandwich.

Canโ€™t believe we are on 20! All I get is green apple and oak on the nose. Like jolly rancher green apple which is the worst of all. Taste is same with like fresh leather. Not my fav style scotch/japanese.

Leg lamp color. Umm... Sweeet but atypical. Woody. Caramel and floral. paint varnish or like nail polish. hoo that hits. Maple syrup caramel etc. Oak. bit of spicy finish. ok im all over the map here. Coffee grounds and dark chocolate.T his one has everything in a strange way. if this is bourbon i'm mistaking the heat for spice. I'd love to have tasting notes before trying this one next time. Going rye, I get the sweetness but it's just overpowered? If I'm wrong, long live the queen.

'Twas the night of the eighteenth tasting, and all through the room, I poured a glass of whiskey and hung up Zoom. The aromas so rich, allowed me to unwind, I believe my palate is becoming a bit more refined. I sniffed the first dram, my nose gave a sign, โ€œWhy does this one smell a bit like red wine?โ€ More scotch, I exclaimed, my palate intrigued, The journey began, and my taste buds agreed "Delicious!โ€ I declared as my glass emptied out, Do I like scotch now? It seemed there was no doubt. Is this year's selection better, or have I just grown? It's certainly been many years since I use to chug Keystone.

Like this one but it burned it's way down. Legit gave me the hiccups, wtf is that about? Honestly dig this one though, hope it is affordable.

Hard time identifying the nose maybe grassy lemon which makes me go towards rye but crap shoot. Honey lemon cough lozenge on end. Mid. Better with some water for sure.

Whoa, had to take a double take on the nose, the initial take almost blew me face off. Little hot on the palate but not to bad, getting some caramel and baking spice , maybe clove and a wee bit creamy finish almost? Though the finish was a little thin, overall I liked it.

This is what Iโ€™m here for. Fruity and sweet (is that cherry?) with a wonderful smokey velvety finish. Little spicy but not overpoweringly so. To quote a friend in this group โ€œtodays selections is delightfulโ€

I am not quite sure why but I do like this a lot. Amazing how much the flavor profile changed with an ice cube. Put some more hair on my chest
