Really like the smell of this one, burns a little on its way down but I suspect I'm liking it more than KG/SG. Guessing bourbon because it's safe (and I'll contest any more "others"). Go pack go!!

I can't remember the last time I was this close to cracking a case this dangerous, or one with as many implications. I DO remember the last time I was sitting at a poker table with a gun pointed at me from across the cards. But this time might be my last. "Your turn detective...I suggest you fold." But I can't fold. Not now. I'm so close to finding out the secret recipe. A week ago I didn't care how Liqui-corp made their blend. But a dame came to my office, nervous and agitated. Someone was after her because she had discovered the truth. I brushed her off, another case of paranoia, common ever since The Bombs dropped and reshaped the world. But I was wrong. Found her body the next day, clearly a target of Liqui-corp. I'm a like a scientist with an atom to split when it comes to cases like this, and the clues finally led me here: a high stakes poker game with the CEO of Liqui-corp. on the table: my entire life savings (45 nuka-bucks) and the recipe. Of course, I had the winning hand, hence the gun in my face. He was never going to play fair. But neither was I. "I think I'll raise actually". And I duck under the table, lift up quickly and overturn the game but not before I grab the recipe. Shots fire towards the ceiling as the CEO takes a tumble. I'm already out the window and racing down the fire-escape. I find an alley and read the recipe. Everything seems normal, they distill the alcohol in pre-war barrels and age them quickly with atomic radiation, totally normal process. But I realize something is missing...there's no de-radiating procedure. I turn it over and nothing. Read it again twice. I understand why they would kill to keep this secret: Liqui-corp is known for having maximum tasting beverages, because they are still RADIOACTIVE!

Woah. Big apricot front end. Plenty proof. Lots of baking spice. The nose isnโ€™t giving much more than dusty hay and furniture varnish, but the palate is a flavor bomb. This oneโ€™s almost too intense to enjoy. I feel like it wants water but Iโ€™m trying to get a handle on the proof for the form. Thereโ€™s a lot of golden raisin happening. I feel like weโ€™re going into the last row of the box like the finale of a fireworks show.

On first smell Iโ€™m getting sweet and a lot of alcohol. I donโ€™t know what guess anymore. Lots of fire. Also sharing this outtake from my family Christmas card card in the mid 90s that my mom shared with me this week. Canโ€™t imagine why this didnโ€™t make the card. What says Christmas more than posing with your sister on the trampoline in your church clothes in your backyard in the Texas panhandle. ๐Ÿคฃcheers!

Apple pie and fire had a baby. Take today and combine it with yesterday, youโ€™ve got apple pie ร  la mode and fire had a baby. That sounds perfect.

Not sure how we get a bourbon that cost this much in the calendar. The total value of two whiskeys combined is supposed to be $140 to 50. That means the other whiskey submitted by hanky is like -$50.

And George T. Stagg is the crazy expensive one. Stagg (formerly Stagg Jr. ) is what we had.

Nasty licorice flavor. Very light smell. I'm out of guesses. Strange flavor here. Lingers on the palate in a thick, odd uncomfortable feeling.

Warm, caramel notes. Intense spice and burn. I just read the guesses out loud in order on the page. My kid yelled "you said 6/7!"

Once again the Beyer house is split on this, clearly opposites do attract causeโ€ฆ. Me no likely, but Tim? โ€œIโ€™d buy that.โ€ Sighโ€ฆ

Vanilla, butterscotch but we did just enjoy a brandy. Sweetness overwhelmingly. Jesus! High octane! Bit of licorice. Nose is much more interesting than the tasting.

Did not like this one at all, the rating is to pacify my husband who โ€œdidnโ€™t think it was badโ€ while I had goosebumps from it!

Lovely all around! That lingering heat is really something. Not my favorite of the calendar, but certainly in my top tier. I dig it!

Well balanced and probably fantastic mixed. But this year Iโ€™m dedicated to drinking every dram neat. Not even any ice or water, which was maybe a bad idea? But I have been enjoying it, and finding more hidden flavors as things open up or sit on the palate for a while.

Perfect winter sipper. Getting leather and sweet something that I can't put my finger on. But I will keep trying to figure it out. Mama didn't raise a!l quitter!

I'm thinking this is a finished bourbon...port barrel maybe? Penelope....something like that. Clean nose, nice taste...I hate the word "smooth" but this is a smooth operator.

Whoa. Liquid fire, this one. Feels like the highest proof weโ€™ve had so far this year. Overwhelms pretty much everything else. Opened up a bit with some water - I got some spice notes, but the raw alcohol just dominates. Canโ€™t say Iโ€™m a fan of this one.

A nice red hot cinnamon dram. Should have played with it a bit, ice, cocktailโ€ฆ. But then it was gone.
